When Pgh once had a pro baseball team
By: JET
In 1908 the Pittsburgh Pirates finished 2nd in the NL with a .636 WINNING record, plus our city was celebrating it's 150yr Sesquicentennial with a HUGE EXPO at the Point, in Exposition Hall. In 1909 the Pittsburgh Pirates not only were the NL Pennant Winners but they also won the 1909 World Series in our new Forbes Field.

In 2008 the Pittsburgh Pirates finished LAST in it's NL Division with only a .414 percentage, after it's SIXTEENTH CONSECUTIVE LOSING SEASON, but the OWNERS cleared another 18 MILLION DOLLARS in PROFIT by robbing the fans.

Oh yea, in 2008 Pittsburgh is celebrating it's 250th Anniversary with a lame website, but not much else except a monster fireworks display, and definitely NOTHING like 1908's HUGE EXPO promoting our region's achievements and prospects to the world.
